India Vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2023 Super Fours Match, Colombo Weather Update: Rain Likely To Play Spoilsport

India Vs Pakistan, Asia Cup 2023 Super Fours Match in Colombo on September 10: Archrivals India and Pakistan are all set to face each other in the third Super Fours match of the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 in Colombo on Sunday (September 10).

The match is scheduled to take place at the R. Premadasa Stadium in the capital city of Sri Lanka. It will be the second time both these star-studded sides will line up against each other in the ongoing premier continental event, which is jointly hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The last match between India and Pakistan was played on Saturday (September 2) last week, but due to heavy rain in the second half, the match finished without any result. Like the Group A match, there are high chances of rain playing spoilsport in Colombo on Sunday as well. But in case it happens and the match can’t be completed, there is a reserve day in place, and the match will continue from where it left off on Monday (September 11).

As far as the weather update is concerned for Colombo on Sunday, according to Accuweather, there are 49% chances of rain at 2 p.m. IST and will grow to 66% at around 3 p.m. IST, which is the scheduled start time for the match. The rain prediction will remain in the range of 49 to 69% throughout the game, and there are high chances that, like the last match, this game between these two sides will also be affected by rain.

The match will take place at the same venue where on Saturday (September 9), hosts Sri Lanka faced Bangladesh, and while it was pleasant weather on the first day of the weekend, the same can’t be said about Sunday, at least as far as the weather forecast is concerned.

In the Group A match, India’s momentum broke due to the rain break, and they lost as many as three top-order batters in quick succession against Pakistan’s pace trio of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf, which has dismissed 23 batters combined in three matches played so far.

Pakistan, which won their first Super Fours match against Bangladesh by a margin of seven wickets on Wednesday (September 6) in Lahore, would like to secure a win over India and almost confirm a ticket in the finals of Asia Cup 2023, whereas Rohit Sharma & Co., high on morale after securing a 10-wicket win over Nepal in their last match, would like to earn a big win over Pakistan, which slipped to No. 2 position in ODI rankings on Saturday after Australia’s 123-run win over South Africa in the second ODI of the ongoing five-match series.
